What to expect when you make your 1 st phone call to Southwest Vein and Leg
- We will ask about your current symptoms and reason for calling.
- Have you ever had vein procedures done in the past?
- Have you ever had a screening done?
- Do you currently have health insurance?
- At this time, we will ask for all of your personal information including your insurance name and ID number. Please have your insurance card available to help speed up the process.
- We will schedule your 1st appointment (Vein Mapping) and start working on verifying your insurance benefits.
- You will receive a call back from our staff once your insurance has been verified with coverage information for your appointment.
What is included in the initial consultation?
- After the mapping you will be scheduled to see the doctor to determine your treatment plan and go over all your options.
- Our authorization team will then submit your mapping and doctor consult notes to your insurance company. Approval times vary depending on your insurance carrier. Most insurance plans will approve/deny the procedures requested within a week.
- The amount of procedures you need will determine the number of visits to complete your treatment plan. When treating the larger superficial veins with laser or RFA, we treat one large vein per visit. After completing the treatment on the larger veins then injections are done in the remainder of the veins. We do one leg per visit when injecting the veins with Varithena.
- Keep in mind, veins take years and years to form, so they will not all go away overnight. Vein treatment can take several sessions and even a few months to complete depending on the extent of the vein disease.
